A new group of mass graves in which the remains of some 5,000 Belgian and Polish Jews are buried has been discovered near Hersbruk, Bavaria. The Jews were murdered in November, 1944. Dr. Philip Auerbach, Bavarian Commissioner for Persecutses, has ordered the site of the graves fenced in and has announced that the graves will be restored and a memorial to the victims will be erected there.
The Social Democratic Party has introduced a draft measure in the Bonn Parliament to make amends for injustices perpetrated by Nazi legislation, particularly the Nuremberg laws and other anti-Jewish measures. The new legislation is designed to be effective on a federal scale and to replace similar provincial laws put into effect since the end of the war.
