The Israel Parliament today gave final approval to a reorganization of the national educational system which would make possible religious education for children in immigrant camps. The reorganization program provides:

1. The school department of the Ministry of Education is to operate all schools in the immigrant camps; 2. In the Yemenite camps the schools are to be supervised by a committee composed of four Orthodox and four non-Orthodox persons recognized by the Ministry of Education. The committee will determine the curriculum to be used in the schools and will choose the teaching staff.

In non-Yemenite camps separate schools will be established for religious and non-religious children. The Schools Department of the Ministry of Education will conduct the registration of the pupils. Personnel for religious schools in mixed camps will be chosen by the School Department from recommendations made by a committee of supervisors. The schools will be operated directly by the School Department.
