Israel Military Attache in U.S. Completes His Mission; Returns to Service in Israel

Col. Ephraim Ben Arzi, Israel’s military attache in Washington, has comleted his mission in the United States and has returned to service in the Army here, it was officially announced today. Lt. Col. A. Avidor will be acting military attache of the Israel Embassy in Washington pending the appointment of a permanent attache, the announcement said.

M. Gerzon, commercial attache of the Israel legation in Paris, arrived here today for consultations regarding negotiations now under way in the French capital for an Israe-Franco trade treaty.

Reza Safinni, a representative of Persia who has been in Jerusalem for a number of weeks, today called on Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett with a letter from the Iranian Foreign Ministry suggesting that the Israel Government agree to his appointment as a special Iranian representative to Israel pending completion of technical arrangement for the formal exchange of diplomats between the two states.
