The announcement yesterday of the foundation of a new “Right Socialist German Workers Party” modelled after the Nazi Party today brought protests from former victims of Hitlerism who bitterly charged that the formation of this and other rightist groups is the “direct result” of the Allied policy of acrapping the system of licensing political parties.

Yesterday’s announcement was made by Herbert Ritter, a former German Army Lieutenant and member of the Nazi Party since 1930. Herr Ritter, who was banned from political activity by the British occupation authorities from 1947 to 1949 because of his fascist orientation, described the program of his party as being opposed to “leftist terror, to Marrism and to capitalism.”
