The hope that Switzerland will reconsider its agreement with Poland to turn over to the latter heirless property of Polish nationals which is held by Swiss institutions was expressed here today by Rowland Landman, chairman of the foreign affairs committee of the Anglo-Jewish Association, at a meeting of the body. Much of this property was owned by Jews murdered by the Nazis.

Addressing the same meeting, Ewen Montagu, president of the Association, called on the British Government to use its influence with the Arab countries to “prevent any rash action” on their part against Israel. He also said that British de jure recognition of the Jewish state is “long overdue,” adding that such a move would contribute greatly to stabilization of conditions in the Middle East.
