The 300-member strong Hong Kong Jewish community turned out on masse to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the Warsaw ghetto uprising and the simultaneous launching of a drive in behalf of the Keren Hayesod.

Memorial services for the 35,000 Jews who died in the battle were held in the local synagogue and, later, in the Jewish Club. After services local Jewish leaders spoke of the activities supported in Israel by the fund and a film was shown on the reconstruction activities financed by the drive.
