Most displaced persons who entered this country as immigrants are “making good Americans,” Ruth Safran, public relations officer of the American office of the International Refugee Organization, declared here today following a 60-day tour of 22 states. Some 5,000 former DP’s were covered in the survey.

Miss Safran reported that 65 percent of all adult ex-DP’s were wage earners and that 80 percent of all over 21 years of age have already applied for U.S. citizenship, while the remainder are awaiting the arrival of documents needed for filing an application. Miss Safran also said that only five percent of all persons who sponsored the immigrants have failed to make good on their agreements to provide jobs and housing for the DP’s.
