There is no foundation for the belief that food supplies in Jerusalem are insufficient, Minister of Supply Dov Joseph told a meeting of the Parliamentary economic committee today.

In planning for the future, Dr. Joseph added, the Ministry is taking into account the needs of an ever-increasing population. He disclosed that Israel’s wheat allocation from the International Wheat Organization this year will be 20,000 tons greater than that of last year.

The potato yield in Israel this summer will be adequate for home consumption for the months of June, July and August, it was announced here. A crop of 40,000 tons of potatoes is expected to be harvested from 7,000 acres under cultivation.
