Benjamin G. Browdy, president of the Zionist Organization of America, and Dr. Emanuel Neumann, former Z.O.A. president, this weekend emphasized in addresses before the seventh annual conference of the Manhattan Region of the Z.O.A. the need for a strong and autonomous world Zionist organization.
Dr. Neumann said that unless Zionists outside Israel take the initiative and map out their own program in behalf of the Jewishestate and Jewish development elsewhere, the Zionist movement will “decline and eventually disintegrate.” Mr. Browdy called for a strong Zionist movement, enjoying a “privileged status” in Israel completely free from “interference or dictation” in its own operating areas. Jacques Torcyzner was reelected president of the Manhattan Region.
