A total of $5,101,650 has been raised in the 1950 Philadelphia Allied Jewish Appeal campaign, Isadore Sabel, general chairman, announced today at the closing report meeting of the current drive held at the Hotel Broadwood.
More than 1,200 leaders and workers attended the meeting, which was also a testimonial to the retiring president of the Appeal, Samuel H. Daroff. Bernard G. Segal, newly-elected president of the A.J.A., took office at the meeting. Pennsylvania State Supreme Court Justice Horace Stern, honorary chairman of the 1950 A.J.A. drive, presented the retiring president with a portrait.
