First Hungarian Diplomatic Representative in Israel Presents His Credentials

Istvan Romhanyi, new Hungarian charge d’affaires here, presented his credentials to Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett yesterday. Mr. Romhanyi, Hungary’s first diplomatic representative to the Jewish state, formerly served as consul in the United States.

Meanwhile, Dr. Shmuel Elyashev, new Israel Minister to Hungary and Czechoslovakia, left Israel to take up his new posts.

President Weizmann was host today at lunch to the Soviet Minister to Israel, Pavel Yershov. Also present at the meeting was Mordecai Hamir, Israel’s Minister to the Soviet Union.

Alexis Liatis, former Greek consul-general in Cyprus, has been appointed to the same post in Jerusalem, succeeding A. Argyropoulos, who will return to the Greek Foreign Office hore, it was announced today.
