South African Senate Approves Government’s Bill for Segregated Living Areas

The South African Senate has approved by a one-vote majority the third reading of the Government’s segregation bill, designed to establish separate living areas for separate races. Voting was 20 for and 19 against. The bill now goes to the Governor-General for assent.
