Establishment of Foundation in Britain to Aid Weizmann Institute is Announced

The establishment of a Weizmann Institute Foundation to enlist support in Britain for the Weizmann Institute of Science at Rehovoth, Israel, was announced here today.

The announcement said that the foundation will provide “financial and material assistance, encouragement and support to and for the carrying out of research in puro and applied science.” The membership of the first council of the foundation was listed as: The Marquess of Reading; Lord Nathan; Lord Justice Cohen; Sir Simon Marks and Isaac Walfson, chairman of the organizing committee for the foundation.
