Arieh Levavi, formerly counseller of the Israel legation in Moscow, has been named chief of the Foreign Ministry’s Eastern European Division, it was announced here today.
Charles Lutz, one-time Swiss consul in Palestine, has arrived in Israel to discuss with the government the turning over of Protestant Church proporty to the World Lutheran Federation at Geneva. Lutz is credited with having rescued as many as 60,000 Jews from the Nazis.
