Good progress is being made on plans for the participation of American oil interests in the operation of the Haifa refineries, informed sources said here today.
Following negotiations with petroluem interests in New York, David Horowitz, Director-General of the Israel Ministry of Finance, today conferred with State Department officials here to report on the general economic picture in Israel. In two sopa##te visits to the State Department he called on George C. McGhee, Assistant Socrotary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, and Williard Thorp, Assistant Secretary of State For Economic Affairs.
