President Truman Nominates Ambassador Milton Katz to Succeed Harriman in U.N. Post

Ambassador Milton Katz, special United States representative in Europe, who recently succeeded W. Averell Harriman in that post, was named by President Truman over the week-end to serve as American representative on the Economic Commission for Europe, a subdivision of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. In this new post, Mr. Katz would also succeed Mr. Harriman, now serving as President Truman’s coordinator of foreign policy.
