The S.S. Anna Salen docked here during the week-end carrying 1,320 Jewish displaced persons en route from Shanghai to Israel. Although the vessel normally holds only 350 persons, the passengers said that they were not too inconvenienced. A drive for the Jews launched here netted some $5,000 in cash and quantities of blankets, clothing, food and medicines.
