A memorial service honoring the 2,200 Jews from this city who were deported in 1943 to Nazi death camps in the East was held at the Great Synagogue here. Participants in the service included Shlomo Ginossar, Israel Minister to Italy, and Prof. Ugo Della Sets, who conducted the service.
