A Turkish-Israel air agreement is expected to be signed in Ankara within a few days, it was reported here today. Under terms of the pact, Israel’s El-Al planes will start a service over the Istanbul-Ankara-Lydda route. A similar run is already being conducted by Turkey. The new route will be the first permanent, direct Israel-Turkey air service.

A three-member delegation from the Jewish state attended the Middle East Conference of the International Civil Aviation Organization, which was held in Istanbul. Most Arab states were also represented at the meeting. M. Sheanan, who led the Israel delegation, said that El-Al will soon start a direct Lydda-Johannesburg run.
