The United Synagogue of America, representing 450 Conservative synagogues, this week-end presented a citation to Congregation B’Nai Jesburun which is currently celebrating its 125th anniversary. The scroll was presented by Dr. Simon Greenberg, executive director of the organization.
The ceremony marked the opening of the second week of the Jubilee celebration which will last an entire month. The citation noted that Congregation B’nai Jesburun helped lay the foundations of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America and of the United Synagogue of America some 60 years ago.
