“Emmigration and Settlement Day” was celebrated here by thousands of Jewish youths and by various youth organizations. It culminated with a mass meeting at the Habimah Theater, addressed by Joseph Sprinzak, Speaker of Parliment.
A new settlement — “Ein Hashlosha” — was dedicated today to three South Americans who were killed in the Negev during the war of liberation. The colony is the 35th settlement in the southern desert area of Israel.
Settlers in Ein Hashlosha come from various Latin American countries. They received their basic training in settlement life at the Nitzanim colony. Some of the settlers were prisoners of war in Egypt.
