The 22nd annual meeting of the National Conference of Christians and Jews opened here today at the Mayflower Hotel to consider the problems of fighting religious prejudice and discrimination on a global scale.
The three-day parley will adopt a nation-wide campaign goal of $3,542,475 to finance an expanded program in 1951 and will elect new officers. Nominated for reelection are Dr. Everett R.Clinchy, president of the Conference, and Charles E. Wilson, Roger W. strauss and Thomas E. Branif, as national co-chairmen.
Highlights of the meeting will be a message from President Truman and the presentation of silver medals by the Conference to all past chairmen of Brotherhood Week. Reciptents of the awards are Harold E. Stassen for his leadership in 1946; the late John G. Winant, 1947; Robert P. Patterson, 1948; Nelson A. Rockefeller, 1949; and John L. Sullivan, 1950.
