NEW YORK (Nov. 13)
A memorandum on fund-raising and budgeting procedures on behalf of Israel in the United States was the subject of debate at today’s plenary session of the Jewish Agency executive. The memorandum was submitted by the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds.
Six of the Council’s representatives will attend the plenary session tomorrow for further discussions. They are: Herbert Abeles, of Newark, vice-president of the Council; Julian Freeman, Indianapolis, vice-president; Herman M. Pekarsky, director of the Newark welfare fund; Harry L. Lurie, New York, executive director of the Council; Philip Bernstein, assistant director of the Council; and Harold Glasser, director of the Institute on Overseas Studies of the Council.
Shlono Eisenberg, general secretary to the Jerusalem section of the Jewish Agency executive, arrived here by air today to take part in the plenary session, which will continue for the rest of the week.
