Top city and state officials are expressing serious concern as a result of the new flare-up of anti-Semitic beatings in the Dorchester area. While a series of conferences are going on between Jewish leaders and public officials, the trial of the 25 youths who were arrested in Hyde Park after they sought to retaliate for the beatings their friends received in Dorchester has been continued to December 1.
The Jewish Community Council received a full report on the situation from Robert Segal, its executive director. Mr. Segal and Sol Kolack, director of the Boston Anti-Defamation League office, reported that they conferred on the situation with Governor Paul Dever. Another conference was held between Albert Hurwitz, president of the Community Council, and Police Commissioner Thomas F. Sullivan.
