The Vienna Community Council, at an emergency meeting, today censured its chairman, Dr. Kurt Heitler, for his unauthorized message to the Warsaw Peace Conference expressing the community’s sympathy with the aims of the parley. The vote was 19 to 10. Dr. Heitler’s message was sent without the knowledge of the council.
Dr. Heitler, a Communist, is chairman of the council at this time under a rotational arrangement with the other two parties in the council–the Zionist and the Socialist. Each group provides a chairman for an eight-month period. The Zionists and the Socialists have decided to press for Dr. Heitler’s resignation as chairman.
