Jewish Professor Decorated by Italian Covt. for Underground Activities in Rome

Prof. Edoardo Volterra, prominent Italian Jewish scholar and expert on Roman law, was decorated here today by the Italian Government for “courageous participation in the underground fight” during the years of Nazi-Fascist oppression. He was awarded the Silver Medal, which is usually given for military valor.
