Israel Envoy to So. Africa Presents Credentials; Lauds Union’s Feelings to New State

Edward D. Goitein, Israel Minister to South Africa, yesterday presented his credentials to Brand Vanzyl, Governor-General of the Union. The Israeli noted the “warm feelings of friendship of the government and people of the Union towards the new state of Israel.”

Gen. Vanzyl, in response, said “the Union is glad the Jewish people has restored its ancient homeland” and expoessed the hope for “close and friendly relations with the new state.”
