Israel’s strategic position in maintaining peace in the Near East will be the subject of an address by Vice President Alben W. Barkley at the Golden Jubilee Conference of the Jewish National Fund which will open here on January 19, it was announced today. The Vice-President of the United States, who will be one of the principal speakers at the conference, will also touch upon Israel’s role in America’s global policy of strengthening democracy.
