In retaliation for the strike last week of metal workers in ten plants, employers today announced their decision to close 20 metal producing factories as of midnight tonight.

The manufacturers declared that the lockout will remain in force until the government intervenes and orders the Histadrut to call off the strike. Over 1,000 workers are affected by the dispute.
