Israel has lodged three protests in the last two days with the mixed Israel-Jordan armistice commission, charging Arab Legion troops and Arab infiltress from Jordan territory with murdering two Jews and wounding two others in the Jerusalem area.

The first victim, Shamnel Avraham, a 25-year-old recent immigrant from Iraq, was killed when Arab Legion troops fired on an abandoned house in no-man’s land into which he had moved. The second victim, Joseph Friedman, 24, was seriously wounded by Arab Legionnaires who opened fire on a building he was repairing. The building is in the Deir Abuta quarter, overlooking the Jordan lines. Infiltrees, whose tracks led to the Jordan lines, killed a new immigrant and wounded his wife in an attack on their home in Jerusalem’s southern outskirts. The household was ransacked.
