Rep. Isidore Dollinger today asked Congress to investigate the recent granting of clemency to Nazi war criminals in the U.S. zone of Germany.

“These reprieves,” Rep. Dollinger said, “granted to persons who committed the worst crimes against humanity in all history, have struck a death blow at the very foundations of our American system of justice and have brought down upon us the derision and contempt of the world.”

The Congressman introduced a resolution which would provide for the creation of a special House committee to investigate the U.S. Military Government in Germany and the civilian administration which has succeeded military rule.
