The Union of Jewish Communities has withdrawn its support of a proposed statement being drafted by the leftist Association of Political Victims of Fascism to condemn the rearmament of Germany. Stating that it opposes fascism and favors peace throughout the world, the Union added that it will express its opinions in conjunction with world Jewish bodies.

The Italian Association of Jewish Women, through the National Council of Italian Women, with which it is affiliated, has addressed a protest to the Italian Parliament against a bill pending in the Senate barring women from jury service. The Jewish woman’s organization insists that such a law would violate Constitution guarantees of equality of the sexes.
