British Government Will Take No Legal Action to Outlaw Racial Discremination

The British Government has no intention of introducing legislation to outlaw racial discrination in this country, it was stated here today by G.S. Freitas, Undersecretary of the Home Office. The statement was contained in a letter replying to Laborite M.P. Emrys Hughes who asked for such legislation in view of “the race prejudice which is displayed in clubs, hotels and restaurants.”
