Arab Legionnaires shot and killed a young Jew near the “no-man’s-Lana” area in the Musrara quarter of Jerusalem today. A United Nations observer who examined the today, said the fatal shots had been fired from close range. The Israel authorities will make a complaint to the Israel-Jordan Mixed Armistice Commission.

About 5,000 Bedouin tribesmen have infiltrated into Israel territory from the Egyptian-held Sinai desert during the last three weeks, Israel authorities reported today. They said that several clashes had taken place between the invaders and Bedouins domiciled in Israel over grazing lands.

Although the Israel authorities have reported this infiltration to the United Nations Observer Corps, it was stated, no action has yet been taken to prevent the infiltration. It was recalled that some months ago when Israeli forces repulsed Bedouin infiltrees from Egyptian territory, the Egyptian authorities threatened to raise the issue before the Security Council.
