Diplomats, Tourists, Clergymen Permitted to Cross Israel-jordan Frontier on Easter Sunday

Jaffa Gate in the Old City walls was today opened on Easter Sunday to permit the Jerusalem consular corps to proceed to the Old City along the traditional route.

Several hundred other pilgrims, clergymen, foreign residents and tourists, have received permission to cross the Israel-Jordan line through the Mandelbaum Gate. Fifty Franciscans from the Jordan-held Old City were permitted by the Israel authorities today to cross the frontier to visit the Cenaculum on Mt. Zion.
