A number of Jews last week received Stalin Prizes for their contributions to Soviet art and literature, according to a report received here from Moscow.
Among the Jews honored are: Samuel Marshak, first prize in poetry; Iev Kassil, novelist; Wolf Rappaport, for films on China; Michael Gerdin and Wolf Cytron, for the film “Moussorgsky”; Michael Romo, Alexander Stolper, M. Rappaport, for film. Mark Rejzin, a singer, received first prize in his field, while composer Izak Nayevsky was cited for the music he wrote for the film “Kuban Cossacks.”
