Israel’s Independence Day will be celebrated this year on May 10 instead of May 11, by decision of the Knesset, the Israel Parliament. The Knesset adopted an amendment to the Independence Day Law to provide that when the holiday falls on a Friday it should be advanced one day so that Sabbath eve observance should not interfere with the program of celebrations.
