2,438 Claims for Compensation Filed in Berlin by Nazi Victims During April

A total of 2,438 claims for compensation under the measure recently passed by the Berlin municipality to pay for damages suffered by victims of Nazism were filed by 1,142 persons in this city during April.

The official list of claims specifies that 725 claims were filed for compensation for detention by the Nazis; 392 claims for bodily injury and damage to health; 446 claims for loss of property 591 claims for damage to careers; 164 claims based on insurance claims forfeited during the Nazi era; and, 120 claims for loss of life.
