Abel Shaban, South African Jewish leader, arrived in the United States today from Argentina where, as a member of the executive of the World ORT Union, he conducted negotiations on the ORT’s participation in the United Jewish Campaign there.

Mr. Shaban, himself one of the largest contributors to the United Jewish Campaign in South Africa, said he was greatly impressed with the Jewish institutions he visited in Buenos Aires. The Jews of Argentina, he reported, are deeply devoted to Israel, but at the same time they are also developing their own communal life. He lauded Israeli Minister Yaacov Teur who, he said, is highly respected in Argentina Government and diplomatic circles.
