Israel Seeks Diplomatic Intervention to Extend Iraq’s Deadline for Departure of Jews

Diplomatic steps to persuade the Iraq Government to extend for a month the final date of the completion of emigration of Jews from Bagdad to the Jewish state were undertaken by the Israel Government, it was learned here today from Jewish Agency sources. The deadline set by the Iraqi authorities is May 31. There are indications that the steps taken by Israel will yield positive results.
