Reporting an upward trend in maintenance income for the national religious institutions of Reform Judaism, Dr. Samuel S. Hollender, general campaign chairman, announced that $1,132,122 has been raised in the 1950-51 combined campaign of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations and the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. This is $119,824 more than was collected during the previous fiscal year and represents the largest amount raised to date for the annual maintenance fund of the parent bodies of the Reform wing of American Judaism, he said.

In the last two years, Dr. Hollender reported, the Combined Campaign has increased the annual maintenance income of these institutions by 55 percent. He attributed this increase to the growing popular awareness of the role and responsibilities of organized religion during the present world crisis as well as to greater effectiveness in fund-raising methods.
