Soviet Encyclopedia Ignores Jewish Literature and Authors in U.s.s.r; New Trend Seen

Jewish literature and Jewish authors are ignored in the latest edition of the Soviet Encyclopedia which formerly devoted many pages to Jewish authors in the U.S.S.R. and their works, it was reported here today. Copies of the latest edition of the encyclopedia have just arrived from Moscow.

A slashing attack on two Israeli labor parties for their failure to send delegations to the Youth Peace Congress to be held in East Berlin was made this week by the Communist-controlled Yiddish newspaper Volkstimme, published in Warsaw. The parties singled out for attack were Premier David Ben Gurion’s Mapai and the Soviet-oriented Mapam parties.
