A group of 763 Jewish immigrants arrived at Haifa from Rumania yesterday on the liner Transylvania. They reported that the Rumanian authorities had given only three days’ notice to approved immigrants and that many, who should have sailed in this transport were consequently unable to reach the embarkation port of Constant in time. One trainload of 500 immigrants failed to reach Constant in time to board the ship. Most of the new arrivals are elderly people.
