The three-day 29th annual convention of Zeirei Agudath Israel of America, religious youth movement, closed here today after adopting a resolution calling on American Orthodox Jewish youth to serve as “Torah Chalutzim” in Israel’s immigrant camps and labor villages and to spread religious education among newly-arrived children in Israel.
The 500 delegates also accepted a resolution sharply criticizing the World Zionist Organization for asking for recognition as the sole representative of world Jewry in relation to immigration and fund-raising for Israel. Other resolutions urged expansion of the organization’s servicemen’s bureau and for Orthodox groups to establish a bureau to license Orthodox Hebrew teachers.
