A resolution calling on the national administration of the Zionist Organization of America to implement its declared policy of support for the General Zionist Organization of Israel was adopted today at the eighth annual conference of the Manhattan Region of the Z.O.A.
The resolution declares that “General Zionism can help and assist the new republic most by co-operation with the General Zionist Organization of Israel which represents the age-old Jewish traditions of individual freedom and social justice.”
Earlier, Jacques Torcznyer, retiring president of the Region, told the conference that the Z.O.A. must abandon its “forced neutrality” and define its immediate and concrete aims and intentions. He proposed a program of activities in Israel in which he said, “American knowledge and skill as well as American money” could contribute.
Louis Dince, chairman of the Region’s executive committee, was unanimously elected to the presidency.
