The trial of Dr. Philip Auerbach, deposed head of the Bavarian Restitution Office, on charges of fraud in connection with his official duties has been postponed for several more weeks, it was reported here today.
A statement of the Bavarian Ministry of Justice asserts that Dr. Auerbach was involved in operation of a private news service with contacts abroad, and charged that he and “confederates” used the agency to keep watch on public personalities. It also accused him of restitution transactions with non-existent persons in the province of Hesse. He was previously charged with similar illicit transactions with non-existent residents of Wuerttemberg.
