Judge Karl Prodehl, a German judge in the American section of West Berlin, was removed from the Criminal Court bench for issuing a verdict which was considered anti-Semitic by Allied officials, it was announced here last night.
The verdict was issued against three displaced Jews who were charged with blackmarket offenses. Two of the three were fined the equivalent of $250 in German marks and the third was fined $125. Allied officials said that the sentence was heavier than usual and that the DP’s had been given the sentences “simply because they were Jews.”
