The Israel Cabinet, at its meeting tomorrow, may consider the question of the locomotive engineers’ strike. It is thought possible that certain emergency regulations may be resorted to by the government if the strike continues.

This was made clear today by a spokesman of the Ministry of Communication, who said that the strike had seriously crippled Israel’s communications. The interurban traffic situation worsened today when the Egged, one of the leading bus cooperatives, suspended operations between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Thousands of Israelis who came to Jerusalem to spend the Succoth holiday in the capital are stranded here.
