Ambassador Abba S. Eban, Israel’s permanent representative at the United Nations, today drew the attention of the members of the U.N. Security Council to the findings of Gen. William E. Riley, Palestine Truce Supervisor, concerning the tensions in the Huleh area.

In a letter addressed to the president of the Security Council for circulation to its members, Mr. Eban pointed out that Gen. Riley’s report, dated September 23, makes clear that “the root cause of the political and military tensions in the Huleh area was a deliberate aggressive design by the Government of Syria to secure possession and control of territory outside its own international boundaries.”
