Triangular peace talks held here under the leadership of the United Nations Conciliation Commission on Palestine appeared headed today for a final breakdown as members of the commission met alone for the third time without the presence of either Arab or Israeli delegations.
Decision on the continuation of the conference will be announced within a day or two, a commission spokesman said tonight. He advised against “jumping to conclusion that it is all over.”
The commission meanwhile is drafting the report it will submit to the United Nations General Assembly. The report is expected to review the commission’s efforts to achieve a peace agreement between Israel and its Arab neighbors and the deadlock which ensued over the refusal of the Arab states to accept the preamble binding all parties to refrain from all acts of hostility.
